Meteorological Randomness Or Spiritual Liminality?

Today I witnessed a crow (raven?) pass above my head. I see them all the time.

I noticed two in particular had taken an interest to the light post next to my parked car.

I marveled at how magnificent they were, vibrant, healthy and full of life.

I took note at the way their rich black feathers contrasted against the blue sky and pulled out my phone to get a quick photo. One flew away but the other stayed put long enough for me to capture the moment.

I silently wondered, “is this a sign?” And I took the picture.

As it turns out, it was a sign.

The moment I pull out my phone to take a photo, I capture the exact moment this bird turns its head to look at me.

A subtle nod from some grand cosmic design?

The exact point  in time, two creatures recognize a shared stream of consciousness.

Logically, we can deduce the bird must have seen the shiny reflection in my camera lens.

We know through scientific studies that this particular species of bird is quite attuned to noting shining objects.

But emotionally and spiritually I see it as  two sentient beings locking on to a moment of shared connection.

There’s a million different ways that moment could have played out. The bird could have flown away, it could have continued looking the direction it was previously. It could have looked at me after I took the picture.

But in that moment as I begin to ask “does this raven flying over me mean something? I capture the answer.

The truth is, signs are everywhere.

The universe is made up of infinite synchronicities and patterns for YOU to uncover.

A bird staring directly at you, the moment you ask if it means something.

The way the wind shifts subtly as you think about a deceased loved one.

The way a song keeps showing up through out your life. Each time, marking a distinct transitional phase in your life.

How I understand it to work is this:

When the brain drops its filters, these patterns begin to reveal themselves.
